Primary pupils into TRIZ

July 23, 2010

TRIZ, the Theory of Inventive Problem Solving is a programme which promotes entrepreneurship and gives pupils an organised way to invent and develop their problem solving abilities. Senior class pupils from Scoil Cholmcille, Scoil Mhiure Fatima, St. Vincent’s Primary Convent and Scoil Padre Pio engaged in a 5 week TRIZ programme in their classrooms facilitated by John Mc Sweeney, who has run TRIZ programmes in primary and post-primary schools in Cork over the past number of years. In June 2010 these pupils presented their innovations at an exhibition in UCC, where these young inventors were supported by the university community.
