Community Campus Project

The aim of this project is to develop community based higher level educational access for adult learners from underrepresented groups and increase participation rates. Establish close working regional-based partnership between CIT, UCC and community stakeholders.

• Targeting mature students and ethnic minorities
• Development of educational strategy for targeted areas
• Development of intercultural education strategy
• Scoping and design phase
• Establishment of partnership working groups in specified communities and for ethnic minorities
• Delivery of educational programmes to increase mature student and ethnic minorities participation
• Raising awareness through seminars and project findings

• Mainstreaming

Expected Outcomes

• Increased participation in education from socio-economically disadvantaged areas
• Increased participation in education from under-represented ethnic minorities
• Development of piloted new routes
• New models of good practice
• Assessments and evaluation of strategies and delivery
• Targeted recommendations offered on national basis
• Models of progression routes mainstreamed
