Home-School-Family Link Project: Post Primary
This project will implement a framework for improving access and progression routes for students who for socio-economic reasons have not traditionally availed of third level education. It will achieve this through close working links with existing Access staff in CIT and UCC, and schools and other services.
Key Activities
- Establish project within areas of disadvantage
- Collaboration with current learning support services within communities
- Work with post-primary schools to provide extra curricular activities
- Identify links with adult groups
- Dissemination of evaluations and reports for future strategy
- Mainstreaming to widen access and participation
Expected Outcomes
- Co-ordinated community based approach
- Cohesive and collaborative programme which combines existing services
- Develop perception within community of education as cohesive and lifelong activity
- Develop perception that community is a stakeholder in Higher Education
- Compilation & distribution of Manual of Best Practice – evaluation and review
- Policy, procedure and practice developed for project
