Science & Technology Centre

This project will support access, retention and progression in Science and Technology through a collaborative framework, and enhance and develop participation by schools and communities, that are under represented in higher education. Achieve this by close working ties with schools, educational bodies and existing services provided by CIT and UCC.

Expected Outcomes

  • Fully equipped Lab that allows all aspects of curriculum’s to be taught and demonstrated
  • Framework allowing teachers to structure & manage Science and Technology teaching
  • Teachers integrating social networking tools in teaching and learning
  • Teachers up-skilled in different approaches to teaching Junior and Leaving cert
  • Students will have increased access to experiments with virtual labs
  • Teachers will gain confidence and more skilled in all aspects of Primary Science Curriculum
  • Higher retention rates and better ability of 1st Year students in Science related courses
  • All materials made available online
